Terri & Roy are proud to offer a warm welcome to their beautiful home set in the heart of the evocative medieval Town of Sarlat, in the Dordogne and Perigord region of France.

Built in 1503 this stone built property with its shady courtyard nestles in the heart of Medieval Sarlat. A quiet oasis in the jumbled weave of alleys and passageways that gives Sarlat its world famous charm.

Literally in the heart of the town's historic centre, La Lanterne could not be better situated for you to discover and enjoy the wonders and delights of Sarlat. Make your way through the cobbled streets and alleyways of this beautiful and mesmeric medieval town, made even more intriguing by night when the town takes on a special ambiance as the old fashioned gas lamps cast their warm glow over the honeyed stone of the historic buildings.

Centrally situated for the world famous sites of the Perigord Noir, your Sarlat base with its proximity to the major attractions of this unique area makes local sightseeing an effortless pleasure. A minimum of four days is recommended to pack in most of the places of interest and it will still leave you wanting to come back for more.

Then, after a busy day's sightseeing, you can enjoy a drink in the cool of our courtyard before strolling down to sample the culinary regional delights of the numerous restaurants. You may wish to sit a while in one of the lively pavement cafe's or bars watching the world pass by. In July and August you can while away many an hour being entertained by a whole host of street entertainers and performers during the towns two months of Festival. Market days every Wednesday and Saturday bring the town to life with an amazing profusion of vendors and colourful stalls.
